Reliance Industries limited (www.ril.com) has always made sustainable development the cornerstone of its business strategy to achieve sustainable and profitable growth, creating in its wake thriving eco-systems around all its businesses. To provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of RIL, Reliance Foundation (RF) was set up in 2010 as an expression of its vision towards sustainable growth in India.
India is a nation of a billion dreams, a billion aspirations and above all great opportunities. To turn these dreams into reality, especially for the vulnerable sections of the society, Reliance Foundation has taken the path of inclusive development to address their basic needs. Reliance Foundation has cumulatively touched the lives of 4 million people in over 5,500 villages and various urban locations.
Core Pillars
Reliance Foundation works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities across India, with the objective of integrating them into mainstream development process of the country. The Foundation focuses its efforts on five core pillars of Rural Transformation, Education, Health, Urban Renewal and Arts, Culture & Heritage.
Each of these pillars has a clear mandate.
Rural Transformation: Reliance Foundation is committed to improving livelihoods in rural India through sound processes, use of state-of-art technology and knowledge empowerment.
Education: Reliance Foundation offers quality education through open access to a network of schools. It is also implementing a plan to establish a world class, multidisciplinary university.
Health: Committed to the vision of ‘Health for All’, Reliance Foundation has launched a Health Outreach Programme to make available preventive and primary healthcare to the vulnerable sections of the society. The Foundation’s Drishti Programme has also supported more than 13,000 cornea transplants. Besides, Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital & Research Centre will be a world class tertiary health care facility.
Urban Renewal: Reliance Foundation actively supports urban renewal projects to create green public spaces, as well as civic and security initiatives.
Arts, Culture & Heritage: Reliance Foundation helps support initiatives to protect and promote India's priceless art, culture and heritage.
Supported Initiatives Reliance Foundation believes in working with like-minded partners who share its objectives and who can enable a greater spread of its efforts to achieve sustainable development in the transformation of the country. The Foundation also works in tandem with government programmes to help deliver the intended benefits to the lowest strata of the society, besides empowering the recipients through Information Services to avail of maximum possible benefits.
